Overview

FSSAI (Food Safety and Standards Authority of India) registration is mandatory for any entity involved in the manufacturing, processing, packaging, storage, distribution, and sale of food products. FSSAI registration ensures that food products meet certain standards of quality and safety. There are primarily two types of FSSAI registration/licenses: State License and Central License

State License: This license is required for small to medium-sized food businesses. It is issued by the State Government’s FSSAI department.

Requirements for State License: Annual turnover of the food business is between Rs. 12 lakhs and Rs. 20 crores.Businesses such as food storage, retailers, wholesalers, distributors, transporters, etc., usually require a State License.

Central License: This license is required for large-scale food businesses. It is issued by the Central Government’s FSSAI department.

Requirements for Central License: Annual turnover of the food business exceeds Rs. 20 crores.Businesses involved in food import/export, large manufacturers, operators in the food chain, etc., usually require a Central License.

Process

·        Reach out foscos website for registration, and select the Premise of buiseness. Based on factors like turnover, nature of food. Prepare Required Documents:

Gather all the necessary documents required for the chosen type of FSSAI registration.

·       Submit Application Online Visit the FSS AI official website and navigate to the registration section ·       Application Processing:

·       Once the application is submitted, it undergoes processing by the respective FSSAI authorities.

·       Receive FSSAI Registration Certificate.

·        Upon successful verification and processing of the application, the FSSAI registration certificate is issued to the applicant.
